![]() ![]() If someone manages to fix the MAPINFO issues and/or make MAP41 obsolete send me a file with your version and ill include it with your name in the end credits.Īs for the source code of the patcher program, its automatically generated by a tool called VPatcher. It was the only way i could get two end screens in a row to behave properly. To achieve the latter i had to create a dummy map which is MAP41, MAP41 is a complete copy of MAP40. Beat that one and it will switch to my own improvised end screen that will show you the final scene where it lists all the demon names like the original ending. Once the end text passes it will put you directly in the new maps and continue from there.įrom here it will be a bit less stable on the intermission screens, perhaps someone with more MAPINFO knowledge than me can solve it.Īfter you beat the lost levels it switches to MAP40 which is PANIC. Once you have beaten the last map it will not end the game and instead show the title screen animation, after this you get the end text for beating the campaign. This new version should have the proper intermissions and titles for the main campaign. I did whatever i could to get the MAPINFO as well as i could manage, unfortunately not without in the newer levels intermission screens. The final map, MAP40 isn't played in that video but it is named Panic. And the ending text from watching this youtube video (it's description also has all the level names). I got the names from using a Staging Area password (any will unlock the special features menu) in the official Doom 64 port and checking out the warp menu. You'd have to manually fill that in the MAPINFO lump like Doom 64 EX's wad generator did. None of that will be translated by Doom 64 EX. Then run Doom 64 EX with the newly minted PWAD.Īlso, the mapinfo in the wad generated still has this port's localization strings ($map_name_39 and $cluster_text_1, etc). ![]() The only way I was ever able to get to the new levels in Doom 64 EX was to extract them into a separate wad, rename the map lumps MAP01-MAP07 with a new MapInfo lump (copy the map info for maps 33-40 and change the numbers similarly). Trying to run the game with a Warp command of anything higher than 32 will crash Doom 64 EX anyway. Just some info from my own exploration of this stuff: This means its not piracy by any means, neither am i giving people a version of the game they did not pay for). (For bethesda, this patch is completely fan made, only works on the current version of the steam WAD and merely applies my modifications to the official files without having to give away any copyrighted content. If your capable of performing the fixes yourself feel free to send me the fixed WAD in private so i can make a new patcher. Let me know if you experience any issues with the final result it generates and ill see what i can do. After this i had a wad that so far seems to be working nicely.īut the easiest way to obtain it is of course the tool i have created that does it all for you, you can grab a copy at henk.tech/doom64. If you want to do this manually you will have to use SLATE and restore the missing markers, there are some sections related to the graphics of the menu's you will want to restore with the N64 WAD's versions, you will also want to take out the DM section and replace the DS section with the N64 one. Keep in mind that my patched WAD breaks compatibility with the new port so do not replace the files in your steam directory in order to get the uncensored cross, you still have to follow the guide for that one. I have also performed the uncensored guide. In order to get my patched wad you will have to run my auto patcher on your copy of the game, and it will do the modifications for you. ![]() That means that version 2.0 is no longer identical to the N64 version and instead is based upon the wad we get from the steam version making it legal to use if you own the steam version. Instead of the previous version converting it to the N64 wad I have now used SLATE to manually patch the Steam WAD file to be compatible with Doom 64 EX. And have now got a result i think will please a lot of you. As some of you know i have been working on a patcher that restores Doom 64 EX compatibility with this game. ![]()
